We have an exciting opportunity for a Small Animal Vet to join an amazing team based in Ballymena at the gateway to the beautiful Glens of Antrim and the stunning scenery of the North Coast!

This is a great opportunity for someone to thrive in a supportive environment; working with an experienced team of veterinary surgeons and as part of a well equipped clinic, whilst enjoying the backup of the larger network.

Salary package of up to £65,000 PA

This is a permanent, full-time role working 39 hours a week over four days with 1:4 Saturday mornings and no out of hours. They are open to negotian and can be flexible for the right candidate.

The Branch

You will be joining an amazing eleven vet practice with a comprehensive support team. They provide a wide range of veterinary services and facilities and are a kind and caring team who aim to provide exceptional care.

The practice is a friendly and supportive first opinion, two centre mixed practice. Operating out of a purpose-built premises equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, full in-house blood and urine testing, as well as orthopaedic equipment. The caseload is varied and interesting.

Some Duties:

  • Perform surgery, dress and treat wounds.

  • Perform diagnostic, laboratory, imaging and ultrasound testing where required.

  • Prescribe medication.

  • Promote preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations and immunisations.

  • Euthanise patients.

  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies and procedures.

  • Maintain patients medical records.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Registered with the RCVS.

  • Qualified MRCVS.

  • Commitment to animal welfare.

  • Ability to keep on top of practice protocols and procedures.

  • Excellent organisational skills.
