Veterinary Surgeon – Cork

Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Diagnose, treat, and manage patients according to the clinic’s high standards. Handle cases comprehensively within the practice and manage referrals effectively.
Case Management: Ensure high-quality follow-up care, effective case handovers, and accurate medical record-keeping.
Medication Management: Safely prescribe and dispense medications while assisting with stock management.
Client Communication: Provide clear estimates and information on diagnostics and treatment plans, enhancing the client experience across various communication channels.
Client Services: Promote pet health plans and insurance options to support optimal veterinary care.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with clinic staff to deliver excellent patient and client care. Offer training and support to uphold best practices.
Clinic Maintenance: Contribute to the clinic’s appearance and daily operations, ensuring accurate billing and compliance with professional guidelines.
Administrative Duties: Manage referral letters, external lab paperwork, pet passports, vaccination records, and insurance claims as needed.
Health & Safety: Adhere to health and safety protocols and cooperate with clinic policies and procedures.

Knowledge & Skills Required:
Qualifications: MVB or equivalent, with current VCI registration.
Experience: Previous experience in a small animal veterinary practice is preferred. An interest in working within a progressive team environment is essential.
Skills: Strong clinical decision-making and surgical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proven time management skills. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
Personal Qualities: Professional presentation, a progressive approach to diagnostics and care, self-motivation, and trustworthiness.
Desirable Attributes:
Additional qualifications in veterinary training.
Experience in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
