A well-established emergency care facility in North Little Rock, Arkansas, is seeking a dedicated part-time Emergency Veterinarian to join its team. The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art medical and diagnostic equipment, including digital radiology, ultrasound, and endoscopy. Emergency drugs, such as snake antivenom, and blood and plasma transfusion products are available. As the only emergency hospital in Central Arkansas open nights, weekends, and holidays, the team is committed to providing top-notch care during critical moments.

Responsibilities

  • Build compassionate, professional relationships with colleagues, clients, and support staff to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Mentor colleagues, support staff, and veterinary students visiting the hospital to encourage a learning atmosphere.
  • Triage and develop treatment plans for emergency patients.
  • Provide continuous care for specialty patients hospitalized overnight or on weekends.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients.
  • Communicate clearly with clients and support staff to ensure optimal care and client understanding.
  • Coordinate with referral partners through verbal communication and referral letters.
  • Participate in morning rounds to collaborate with specialists on hospitalized patients.
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive, and respectful work culture.
  • Promote and support the hospital's Fear-Free culture to ensure a calm and safe environment for all patients.

Qualifications

  • DVM or VMD degree, or equivalent
  • Emergency care experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A compassionate, team-oriented approach to care
  • Willingness to support a Fear-Free, positive workplace culture
