Mixed Veterinary Surgeon – 50% Large Animal / 50% Small Animal
I’m working with a well-established independent mixed practice in the Mountrath area who are looking to add a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to their friendly and supportive team. This is a true mixed position, offering a genuine 50/50 split between large animal and small animal, making it an ideal opportunity for a vet who enjoys variety and wants to maintain strong skills across both areas.
This is a close-knit, community-focused practice with a loyal client base and a reputation for being supportive, down-to-earth and team driven. You’ll be working alongside experienced vets who enjoy teaching and mentoring, and the role would suit either a new graduate or a more experienced vet looking for a solid mixed caseload in an independent environment.
The Role
- Mixed position with a balanced large and small animal caseload
- Supportive rota shared equally across the team
- Excellent support and mentoring available, including for new graduates
- Opportunity to be hands-on and build confidence quickly
The Practice
- Well equipped with in-house IDEXX blood machines, digital X-ray and dental equipment
- Strong focus on good medicine and practical, real-world veterinary care
- Independent and long-established within the local community
What’s On Offer
- Salary €50,000–€65,000 (higher DOE)
- Accommodation provided
- Mileage and work-related expenses paid
- Supportive and fair rota structure
- Excellent work-life balance
If you’re looking for a genuine mixed role within an independent practice where you’ll be supported, valued and encouraged to develop, I’d love to chat further.
