If your happy place is in theatre, this could be the role that lets you do more of what you love. This progressive hospital in the heart of the Midlands is looking for a vet who wants to take their surgical career to the next level.

Why this role?
Instead of endless consulting, this position is built around surgery. The team want someone who’s excited by a heavy caseload of routine and advanced procedures — from soft tissue through to orthopaedics. There’s flexibility too: the job can be shaped to your strengths and long-term goals, whether that’s developing towards referral-level work or stepping into leadership further down the line.

What you can expect:

  • Theatre-focused rota with time protected for surgery

  • Mix of general practice alongside surgical development

  • Support from a strong medical team, including three certificate holders in Internal Medicine

  • Visiting specialists for complex cases, giving you the chance to expand your skills

  • 1 in 4 Saturdays and one night per week on-call, with no Sundays or Bank Holidays

The hospital
A modern, well-equipped site with advanced imaging, in-house lab, and dedicated surgical suites. The practice has long-standing RVNs and a collaborative culture that encourages clinical freedom and professional growth.

The ideal candidate

  • Confident small animal vet with solid surgical experience

  • Certificate holder (or working towards) in surgery preferred, though full support provided

  • Able to manage more complex cases and occasional sole charge

  • Keen to mentor or share knowledge with others (a plus, not essential)

Benefits include:

  • Salary up to €70,000 DOE + €5,000 relocation allowance

  • €1,300 CPD allowance + 40 hours CPD leave

  • Full funding for certificates and higher qualifications

  • VCI & VDS fees paid

  • 6.4 weeks holiday + extra day off for your birthday

  • Pension contributions, sick pay

  • And more!
