Our client, a family-run 24/7 veterinary hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their dynamic and supportive team. This is a full-time day position, ideal for a vet with general practitioner experience who has an interest in emergency and critical care (ECC), surgery, and inpatient care.
About the Practice: This RCVS-accredited hospital is a family-run facility offering both a first opinion and referral service, providing a unique blend of case variety and high-quality care. The hospital supports 16 referring practices while also running a busy general practice, ensuring a varied and complex caseload.
With recent expansions, the practice has tripled its working space and enhanced its ability to offer flexibility in working patterns, internal CPD, and training opportunities. The facility is equipped with advanced tools, including access to external CT imaging, to ensure continuity of care for both vets and patients.
About the Role:
Full-time day vet position with a 4-day workweek (Monday to Friday)
1 in 4 weekends (10-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday, no sole charge, primarily ECC-focused)
No out-of-hours (OOH) duties
Involvement in a variety of complex cases, including general practice, surgery, and ECC
Shifts Include:
1 general surgery shift
1 consulting shift (30-minute sick pet consults)
2 late inpatient shifts (ending at 10 pm), covering inpatient care, ECC procedures, and emergency consults
What We're Looking For:
A skilled vet with experience in general practice and an interest in ECC, surgery, and inpatient care
Ability to work well in a team and maintain high standards of patient care
Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
