Lloyd & Cowan are recruiting for a General Practitioner with a surgical bias to join a thriving practice in the vibrant town of Dún Laoghaire, South Dublin.

The Role

  • Position: Veterinary GP with a Surgical Bias

  • Type: Full-time, Permanent

  • Salary: Up to €60,000 plus bonus scheme (commensurate with experience)

  • Start Date: January 2025

  • Hours: 38.5 hours per week (5 days), including 2 weekend days per 28-day rota

  • Shifts: Typically 7:30 am–4:30 pm or 10:00 am–7:00 pm

  • No OOH

This role involves performing routine surgeries efficiently, managing an operations schedule, and providing excellent care to patients while building strong client relationships.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications: Must be registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI)

  • Experience: Competent in routine surgeries, including dog spays

  • Attributes: A team player with strong client communication and a commitment to high clinical standards

About the Practice

This is a long-established, independently minded practice located in the heart of Dún Laoghaire. Known for delivering exceptional veterinary care for over 50 years, the team prides itself on fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

The team comprises:

  • 6 Veterinary Surgeons

  • 4 Veterinary Nurses

  • 1 Animal Care Assistant

  • 5 Client Care Specialists

The practice features a mix of experienced vets and enthusiastic new graduates, along with a certificate holder in Medicine. They cater to a loyal, well-informed clientele and focus on patient welfare while maintaining an excellent work-life balance for staff.
