We have an exciting opportunity with an Independent practice based in North Wales.

They boast great facilities and are continually investing and developing the practice. They have all the usual diagnostic equipment to work up cases to a high standard. They also host visiting specialists in orthopaedics, cardiololgy, imaging and soft tissue surgery.

The practice is fortunate to have experienced practice growth and consequently they are in need of another full or part time vet to help them continue delivering great care.

  • The role is a mixture of first opinion surgery and consulting across both sites. They have great diagnostic facilities including an in-house lab, new endoscopy and laparoscopy equipment, CR and Doppler ultrasound.

The Ideal Vet:

  • A first opinion vet with some experience

  • Confidence in routine first opinion surgery i.e., neutering, dental work and lumpectomies.

  • A good listener and communicator.

  • The ability to make independent decisions.

  • Excellent computer skills as we move increasingly to a paperless practice.

What is on offer:

  • Minimal periods of sole charge for less experienced applicants.

  • For more experienced applicants there will be periods of sole charge, but this will also be balanced with regular shifts alongside experienced colleagues.

  • Recent and new graduates will be considered and supported with a development plan, regular reviews, and clinical coaching. We are currently working through the VetGDP programme.

  • No out of hours

  • Shared weekends (Sat & Sun half days, option of pay or TOIL for working a weekend)

  • 4 day week (full time), part time applicants will be considered

  • 7 weeks holidays pro rata

  • 4 days CPD pa and £1200 pa pro rata - enhanced terms negotiable for certificates and developing specific areas of interest.

  • RCVS, VDS paid, workplace pension, staff discount.

  • Remuneration package dependant on what you can offer us: £30,000 - £55,000pa.
