We have a fantastic opportunities available for a Veterinary Surgeons to join a wonderful team on a consult only or consult bias role.

  • Full-time and part-time opportunities available.

  • 4 or 5 day weeks welcome. Although they can be flexible on rota and would be keen to discuss the ideal rota for you.

  • No OOH's, just 1 in 4 weekends till lunch time only

The practice has a busy caseload and provide a full range of routine primary care services and specialist services in ophthalmology referral and ancillary treatments like acupuncture all across 4 sites. They are a progressive, well-equipped practice, that's been at the very heart of our local community for many years.

They take pride in providing a caring, compassionate, and friendly service to all clients and their precious pets.

Your role and responsibilities:

As a Veterinary Surgeon here your role will be a varied one. They are looking to welcome a surgeon who has a keen interest in consultations and they are happy to support a consult only role or a role with a large consulting caseload.

They care for all small animals, wildlife, some exotics and even the odd seal! You will see a variation of routine, preventative, and more advanced cases during your working week, and you will have the opportunity to work between sites which will offer you different paces and caseloads, should you wish.

If mentoring is something you enjoy, they have lots of opportunities to mentor and support the more recently graduated team members too.

They are well equipped and have an extensive range of surgical and diagnostic equipment available which includes in-house biochemistry/haematology machines, operating microscopes, digital x-ray, ultrasound, video endoscope plus all the usual toys! You will be supported by a large, dedicated Vet team, highly experienced clinical directors, wonderful, experienced nurses, and a fantastic front of house team.

The varied caseload means they have been able to welcome and support many certificate holders over the years. In their team they currently have Certificate holders or Vets studying towards certs in; Emergency and Client Care (ECC), surgery, ophthalmology, internal medicine and more.

They do have a small exotics caseload that we would be keen to consider increasing and welcome Vets with Exotic certificates/interests.

On top of your personal CPD allowance, you will also have access to the wider team of referral specialists for further support and CPD. They encourage everyone within the team to have input and feedback on the practice's future.
