Are you an experienced veterinarian looking for a rewarding challenge in emergency care?

We have exciting opportunities for skilled and passionate veterinarians to join a dynamic and supportive emergency team at a state-of-the-art facility in Auckland, New Zealand. 

About the Role:

You will handle a diverse caseload, providing urgent care for emergency patients and supporting the specialist team with inpatients.

This role offers a mix of medical, surgical, and critical care, giving you the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of animals in need.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing urgent medical, surgical, and critical care services, including resuscitation, stabilisation, and diagnosis.

  • Assessing the severity of presenting problems and deciding on appropriate treatment and referrals.

  • Performing surgical procedures, with mentorship opportunities for less experienced vets.

  • Working alongside specialists for more complex cases, and liaising with referring veterinary clinics.

  • Preparing detailed clinical notes and communications with clients and referring vets.

  • Contributing to invoicing and administrative tasks as required.

About You:

  • BVSc or equivalent degree recognised by the Veterinary Council of New Zealand.

  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand (visa sponsorship can be considered).

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in small animal practice or completion of a 1-year rotating internship.

  • Emergency experience is an advantage but not essential.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • A positive, adaptable attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • A commitment to providing outstanding patient care and maintaining high clinical standards.

  • Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative and supportive team.
