We are working with a 100% small animal veterinary group located across Cork city, with a busy referral hospital.
This is a state-of-the-art referral centre, that offers advanced services including CT scanning, radiography, ultrasound, laparoscopy, endoscopy, an in-house laboratory, orthopaedic and spinal surgery, hospitalisation facilities, and 24-hour emergency care. We also provide canine hydrotherapy and rehabilitation.

The role:
This role is weekend-only, working on a 3 weekends on / 1 weekend off rota. Shifts run from 7:30am to 7:30pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
What the role involves:
Overseeing inpatient care, ensuring patients remain comfortable and stable throughout their stay
Communicating with owners twice per shift with clear and timely updates
Conducting emergency consultations, both medical and surgical
Managing a variety of emergency cases with a calm, confident approach
Cover on bank holidays will be required if they fall during a scheduled weekend shift.
What we need from you
VCI Registration: Must be a registered Veterinary Surgeon with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI) and eligible to practice in Ireland.
Experience: This role is suitable only for experienced veterinarians. Junior or recent graduates are not eligible. Experience in emergency medicine or OOH work is essential.
