The main hospital is based in Derby and is home to a busy first opinion practice, a multidisciplinary referral service and an out-of-hours service, taking your skills to different locations.

This role will support the practice sites in Derby, Burton and Nottingham working within the local community offering a high-quality local service.

The Team

At the local practice, you will be supported by a team of friendly and well-trained Client Care Assistants (CCAs) and practice nurses. You will work closely together each day, enabling you to build a close bond both with team members, patients and clients.

They have a close-knit vet team who value the importance of supporting each other and sharing their knowledge to ensure they provide the best possible care to their patients.

Each stand-alone practice is an RCVS approved and have well-equipped facilities including imaging and full surgical facilities plus onsite laboratory. They also have separate dog and cat wards to make sure we can keep their patients comfortable if they need to stay with us.  They also offer 15-minute Vet and Nurse consults.

The Role

No two days are ever the same at local practices, you will have the opportunity to utilise all your skills. The practices provide the ideal working environment to progress and develop further. They actively encourage and support CPD, with a number of team members holding or working towards certificates.

As a practice they are constantly striving to improve the care provided as a team and regularly undertake CPD cascading and case discussions. Alongside this they have a dedicated clinical governance group and first opinion audit group.

The role is full time, working an average of 38 hours over 4 days per week but we will be flexible and consider part time/job share – the most important thing is finding the right person for the team!

They offer our own out-of-hours service and have a dedicated experienced night team. You will take part in their weekend rota which works out as 1:4 Saturday Mornings and 1:8 Sundays with time off in lieu the next week. Admin time is factored into the week to make sure you can stay on top of paperwork.
