Experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Practice | No OOH | Hospital Support
An established and highly regarded independent veterinary group is seeking a Full-Time Experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team at their Horley branch.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident small animal vet with a minimum of 3 years’ experience, who enjoys delivering high-quality, evidence-based clinical care while working as part of a collaborative and welcoming team.
The branch is supported by a nearby purpose-built hospital facility, offering access to advanced diagnostics and surgical capabilities including a CT scanner, laparoscopy equipment, advanced surgical procedures, and support from an exotics certificate holder — providing strong clinical backing and referral support when required.
The Role

Full-time (40 hours per week)

4 x 10-hour shifts (8:30am–6:30pm) with a paid 30-minute lunch break

1 in 3 Saturdays (8am–4pm) with a weekday off in lieu (and lunch provided)

No out-of-hours or on-call
-
Inpatient hospitalisation covered at a sister hospital site (Monday–Friday)

Balanced mix of consultations and surgery

Minimum of one dedicated surgery day per week

Supported by experienced vets, nurses, and support staff

Ultrasound scanner (cardiac and linear probes)

Wireless X-ray plate

Video otoscope
About You
-
RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
-
Minimum 3 years’ small animal experience
-
Confident with routine surgery and consultations
-
Strong communication skills and team-focused mindset
-
Committed to high standards of animal welfare and client care
-
Vet GDP Advisor status would be advantageous
Salary & Benefits

Competitive salary from £45,000+ DOE

£1,500 CPD allowance plus 4 days CPD (with potential increase for certificate study)

RCVS, VDS and one additional professional membership paid
