The Opportunity
An established small animal practice in Cork is seeking an experienced Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join their growing and supportive team. This is an ideal position for a confident clinician who enjoys first-opinion practice and wants to take on a senior role while remaining firmly hands-on.

This role offers genuine clinical influence without excessive management responsibility. You’ll be a key part of the team, supporting colleagues where needed and helping to maintain high standards of care, while continuing to manage your own varied caseload.

The Role
You will be confident with routine consultations and soft tissue surgery, comfortable with occasional sole charge, and capable of handling a busy but well-managed first-opinion caseload. The position is suited to someone who leads by example, enjoys collaboration, and values clinical autonomy.

Working Pattern
Full-time and part-time applications will be considered.

  • A full-time week is based around 40 hours with a shared Saturday rota.
  • There is no out-of-hours commitment.
  • Flexibility can be discussed to suit the right candidate.

The Practice
This is a modern, well-equipped companion animal clinic with digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, and access to visiting referral services. The team is experienced and approachable, with a strong emphasis on patient care, clinical standards, and low-stress handling. Clients are loyal and engaged, allowing vets the time and resources to work cases up properly.

About You
You will be VCI registered with solid post-graduate small animal experience. Confidence in first-opinion medicine and routine surgery is essential. Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused mindset are equally important.

What’s on Offer

  • A salary of up to €75,000 depending on experience

The package includes funded CPD, professional fees covered, enhanced annual leave, pension contributions, paid family leave, and additional staff benefits.

This is a genuinely well-run practice offering stability, autonomy and the opportunity to grow within a respected team environment.
