An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, RCVS-accredited practice in East Lancashire. The Location

Based in East Lancashire, you’ll enjoy the perfect balance of rural charm and urban connectivity. With the Ribble Valley, Pennines, and historic towns such as Skipton and Clitheroe on your doorstep — plus excellent transport links to Manchester and Leeds — this location offers true work-life balance.

The Practice

This is a highly regarded, multi-site small animal practice with a loyal and growing client base. The team is passionate about delivering high-quality first-opinion care, with a strong focus on clinical standards, wellbeing, and building sustainable veterinary careers.

Facilities include:

  • Digital x-ray and ultrasound

  • Video endoscopy

  • Two surgical theatres

  • Dedicated dental suite with dental x-ray

  • In-house laboratory

  • Separate canine and feline wards

  • Comfortable team break areas and on-call flat

The practice operates its own OOH service with experienced vets and a dedicated night nurse team, ensuring excellent continuity of care.

The Role

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week (part-time considered)

  • Flexible working options available

  • Some branch work, including occasional sole-charge consulting

  • No OOH required (optional participation available if desired)

  • Salary: £45,000 – £65,000 DOE

You will enjoy a varied and interesting caseload with strong clinical support and the opportunity to develop your interests further.

Who We’re Looking For

  • An experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

  • Confident with routine consultations and surgery

  • VetGDP completed

  • Keen to develop in-house services, particularly in surgery or orthopaedics

  • Motivated to continue learning within a well-resourced, collaborative team

The Team & Culture

You’ll be joining a large, friendly team of around 65 colleagues, including certificate holders in medicine, dentistry and ECC, alongside highly skilled RVNs with advanced certifications in ECC, surgery, anaesthesia and physiotherapy.
