​An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a great team in a leadership role. As this is a clinical position with additional branch management responsibilities, this role would best suit a senior Veterinary Surgeon with previous management experience.

  • Clinical aspects of the job include consulting, surgery and inpatient care with a degree of sole charge work.

  • Managerial responsibilities involve staff support and development, with a focus on business growth.

  • You will work closely with and be supported by the senior management.

The rota

This is a full-time position, typically working a four-day week (8.30am to 6.15pm) and 1:3 Saturday mornings. Competitive salary dependent on experience.

More about the Practice:

  • They are a progressive small animal practice that provides an excellent standard of patient and client care and are constantly striving to improve, based just on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

  • They have a varied medical and surgical caseload, including both routine surgery and dentistry alongside opportunity for more advanced procedures and investigations. And the branch is fully equipped with in-house blood analysers, dental radiography, ultrasound and multi-parameter monitoring. They are also proud to offer laparoscopic surgery as standard and are happy to train new staff. They also have an RCVS-accredited hospital that offers 24-hour emergency and inpatient care and is available to support their branches.

This dedicated team is made up of 22 Vets and 26 Registered Veterinary Nurses across four sites, alongside a full Veterinary Care Assistant, Reception and Admin team. Throughout the group, they have a number of certificate holders with special interest in ECC, internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, cardiology, behaviour, physiotherapy and chronic pain. The experienced team allows them to offer more advanced services such as orthopaedics, BOAS surgery and chemotherapy.
