Night Registered Veterinary Nurse
Cornwall | 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

An established, RCVS accredited small animal practice in the beautiful coastal down in Cornwall is looking to welcome an experienced Night RVN to their team on a 6 month fixed term contract from March 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident nurse who enjoys emergency and inpatient care and is looking for a structured night rota with genuine work life balance.

The Practice

This is a well regarded, multi discipline practice providing high quality care across small animal, equine and farm. The small animal facilities are modern and fully equipped, including digital x ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, two theatres, multi parameter monitoring, dental suite with dental x ray and a dedicated in house laboratory.

The team is close knit, supportive and proud of the standard of care they provide both in hours and out of hours.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering exceptional inpatient care overnight and supporting the on call vets with emergency cases. This is a hands on position suited to an experienced RVN who is confident working both independently and as part of a team.

Key responsibilities include patient handovers between day and night teams, overnight inpatient care, assisting with small animal emergencies and forwarding out of hours calls to the relevant on call vet. Large animal experience is not required.

The Rota

A three week rolling rota offering only 7 nights in every 21 days.

  • Week 1 is Monday to Thursday nights.
  • Week 2 is Friday night plus Saturday 12.30pm through to Monday 8am.
  • Week 3 is fully off.

This structure allows excellent forward planning and significant downtime between working blocks. As a night nurse, you will also have access to a dedicated flat for rest and breaks during your shift.

Salary

  • £32,000 to £34,000 per annum depending on experience.

Benefits

The package includes 6 weeks holiday including bank holidays, a £600 CPD allowance, RCVS membership, VDS cover, enhanced family leave policies, discounted veterinary fees, cycle to work scheme, company sick pay, annual pay reviews and a strong focus on wellbeing and career progression + more!

This would suit a motivated Night RVN who enjoys emergency work and wants to be part of a supportive team in a stunning coastal location.
