Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Surrey | Independent Practice

Lloyd & Cowan Veterinary Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well-established independent veterinary group in Surrey, seeking an experienced Small Animal Vet (minimum 4–5 years’ UK experience) to take on a Lead Clinical role at one of their established branch practices.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, motivated vet who enjoys autonomy, takes pride in high-quality case management, and wants to play a key role in shaping the direction of a growing independent practice.

The Role

This is a sole-charge position within a well-equipped branch, supported day-to-day by an experienced RVN and a dedicated client care team. You’ll also have full access to the wider veterinary team at a nearby sister branch for collaboration, case discussion, and additional support when needed.

You will have genuine influence over clinical standards, workflow design, and case continuity, while being backed by a collaborative leadership team committed to delivering thoughtful, modern veterinary care.

Facilities

The branch is well equipped for high-quality first-opinion practice, including:

  • Ultrasound

  • Digital X-ray

  • Fully equipped theatre

  • In-house laboratory analysers

There is a strong focus on in-house case progression, with collaboration from visiting and peripatetic specialists across multiple disciplines. The practice is open to investing in additional equipment or resources where it enhances patient care or supports your clinical development.

Key Details

  • 4 days per week (3 days considered for the right candidate)

  • 1 in 4 Saturdays (9am–1pm)

  • No out-of-hours

  • Salary £50,000–£60,000 depending on experience and scope

  • 5 weeks annual leave + bank holidays, plus an additional week with long-standing service

  • CPD allowance with support for developing clinical interests

  • Paid professional fees

  • Employee pet care scheme

About You

We’re looking for a vet who:

  • Is confident working independently while valuing collaboration

  • Enjoys seeing cases through and building strong client relationships

  • Communicates clearly and compassionately

  • Takes a proactive, thoughtful approach to clinical work

  • Is motivated to contribute ideas and help shape the future of a growing branch

If you're looking to make a meaningful impact within an independent practice where your voice genuinely matters, this could be an excellent next step.
