A mixed practice in Donegal is seeking an experienced small animal vet to join their supportive, progressive team. While the role is primarily small animal first opinion, there is the opportunity to keep a hand in with occasional farm cases as part of a fair, well-structured rota.
The Role
This position is built around small animal work, covering both medicine and surgery. Routine consults, diagnostics and theatre time are well balanced, with scope to develop in areas of interest. While mainly small animal focused, participation in the shared OOH rota includes some large animal cases, with full support available.
- Full-time: Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm
- Weekends/on-call: 1 in 5 Saturdays & 1 in 5 OOH
- No phone triage: calls are screened before reaching the vet on call
The Team & Facilities
The practice operates across three sites with a strong, experienced team of vets, RVNs and support staff. Facilities include:
- Full IDEXX lab
- Digital X-ray and ultrasound
- Endoscopy
- Laser therapy & physiotherapy equipment
- Orthopaedic and fertility testing equipment
Candidate Requirements
- VCI registered (or eligible)
- Minimum 2 years’ clinical experience
- Confident in small animal first opinion work, both medicine and routine surgery
- Comfortable with, or open to, some mixed practice exposure
