Mixed Veterinary Surgeon (70–80% Small Animal)
County Mayo, Ireland

An established independent mixed practice in County Mayo is looking to welcome a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team. This role offers a predominantly small animal caseload (around 70–80%) alongside some farm work, making it ideal for a vet who enjoys small animal practice but would still like to retain a mixed element.

This opportunity would suit a vet seeking variety, a close-knit team environment and the chance to build a long-term career within an independent practice.

The Role

  • Predominantly small animal caseload (70–80%) with some farm work
  • Routine consults, medicine and surgery
  • Shared out-of-hours rota within a supportive team
  • Flexible approach depending on experience and interests

The Practice

  • Long-established, community-focused independent practice
  • Supportive and experienced team
  • Well-equipped for both small animal and farm work
  • Strong local reputation and loyal client base

Who They’re Looking For

  • Veterinary Surgeon open to mixed practice
  • Comfortable with routine consults and basic surgery
  • Proactive, friendly and team-oriented
  • All levels of experience considered, with support available

What’s On Offer

  • Competitive salary depending on experience
  • Supportive rota and good work-life balance
  • CPD encouraged and supported
  • Independent, collaborative culture

If you’re looking for a mixed role with a strong small animal focus in a welcoming independent practice in the west of Ireland, I’d love to chat.
