We have an opportunity for an experienced vet to join a friendly and dedicated team based in County Armagh as Lead Veterinary Surgeon.
This is a permanent, full-time role working 39 hours per week over four days with some Saturday mornings but we're open to being flexible where we can so get in touch and let us know what works for you.
About the Practice:
The Practice is a well equipped, purpose built and newly renovated practice with an exceptional team who work well together and enjoy coming to work every day in the happy and relaxed atmosphere which is reflected in the positive feedback from the pet owners who use the service. It is situated in Lurgan town centre, close to shops, cafe's and parks with the train station a two minute walk away.
The team currently consists of four vets, a head nurse, a registered nurse, three patient care assistants and three client care assistants.
Salary package of up to £70,000 PA DOE

Duties:
- Ensure all team members provide quality and ethical care to all clients and their pets/livestock.
- Assess, examine and diagnose patients medical issues
- Perform surgery, dress and treat wounds.
- Perform diagnostic laboratory, imaging and ultrasound testing where required.
- Prescribe medication.
- Promote preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations and immunisations.
- Educate clients on positive lifestyle choices for pets/livestock.
- Euthanise patients.
- Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain patients medical records.
Skills and Experience
- Registered with the RCVS.
- Qualified MRCVS.
- Commitment to animal welfare.
- Ability to keep on top of practice protocols and procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills.
