​We have an exciting opportunity for a Head Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and diverse team!

The Role:

The full-time role would be working 40 hours a week over 4 days, 9am to 7pm with 1 in 2 Saturday consult weekends, 1 in 7 long on call weekends - Friday evening to Monday morning. When on call you will only be called in as and when required. 

Your typical week would include mornings and afternoons made up of consultations. After consultations, the rest of your day will be spent liaising with the inpatients and the owners regarding further work ups required or you will be on theatre duties and will complete the ops booked in for that day.

About the Branch:

The practice has multiple sites & branches across Hertfordshire, with 3 new practices just recently opened, it really is an exciting time to be joining this expanding group.

Their high standard equipment includes the latest in Digital Radiography technology, High-speed Colour Doppler Ultrasound scanners, Digital endoscopy, High-powered Dental Scalers and Polishers, ECG & Anaesthetic monitoring equipment.

The team is made up of a team of 8 experienced Veterinary Surgeons, 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 4 Student Veterinary Nurses and 11 Receptionists. The team of experienced and very capable Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Nurses aim to provide the highest quality of care for client’s pets. CPD is highly encouraged, for example, one of the vets in doing a laparoscopic course with the RVC shortly and once of their RVN is doing a certificate in nursing.

The Ideal Vet:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced small animal veterinary surgeon with great client communication skills, a good team ethic and able to make decisions, delegate and prioritise. You would Ideally have an interest in surgery and orthopaedics, but this is not essential.
