We are working with a well established mixed practice looking to add a farm only vet to their team.
The majority of the work is with progressive and motivated suckler beef and sheep farmers, ranging from large commercial herds and flocks to smaller pedigree operations, along with a handful of sizeable dairy units. It’s a great client base with farmers who are keen to work closely with their vet.
The role offers a varied caseload including routine herd and flock work, herd health planning, fertility testing, and the day to day clinical cases and emergencies that come with farm practice.
Ideally they are looking for someone with around 2 years or more post graduation experience, either already working in farm animal practice or coming from a mixed role and keen to move fully into farm work.
The location is a real highlight. The clinic sits in a strong livestock farming area, offering a genuinely rural feel, while still being only around an hour from the city of Edinburgh, so you get the best of both worlds.
The rota is typically a 4.5 day week, with flexibility around this for the right person. On call is 1 in 8 with time off in lieu given.
Salary is competitive and dependent on experience, alongside a strong benefits package and a company vehicle. Dogs are also more than welcome to come to work.
