We have an exciting opportunity for a Large Animal Vet - you'll experience a mix of dairy, beef, sheep & small holders!

One of our clients is seeking a confident and experienced full time farm veterinary surgeon to join their friendly and committed team. This role is open due to expansion, so it's an exciting time to be joining this 14 vet team!

More about the Practice & Team:

You'd be working out of a RCVS Tier 2 practice covering 3 different sites. They have 14 vets currently within the team, and certificate holders within. You'll be joining a team with a wealth of expereince and support to allow you to continue to develop within your career.

The Workload:

​They are a progressive practice covering dairy 40%, sheep 15%, beef 40%, smallholders 4% and equine 1%. They have strong relationships with a large range of dairy, beef and sheep clients helping them to achieve their goals. Also working within the local community and they cover some work at local auction marts during sheep/bull sales.

They also run a sheep club and proactively provide health plans with many farms on full vaccination programs. Bull/ram semen testing is performed with training provided

The Hours:

  • This will be a full-time position with a 1 in 4 weekend rota.

  • Shared large-animal-only on-call rota with dedicated back-up TB testing will be a small part of your workload

Yes, you will have the ability to develop and grow in your areas of interest as you settle into the practice.

There is also opportunities to get involved with Universities to get involved with FarmSkills courses (farmer training) CPD and attendance at courses/meetings are encouraged.

Any areas of specialization are encouraged, with an opportunity to receive mentoring within the practice
