​We at Lloyd & Cowan are thrilled to be working with a practice who are seeking an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join their team   

About them:

They are a two-site practice and see first and second opinion cases. They also provide a referral service to their neighbouring practices. They also provide radiograph & ultrasound services. Their team consists of 5 vets (2 with advanced certs in surgery and medicine), 3 registered nurses, 2 Animal Care Assistants, 2 groomers, and receptionists. Their hospital is a large premises with amble carparking. They have 2/3 consulting rooms, ultrasound room, x-ray, dental machine. Their caseload includes routine & complex surgeries including orthopaedics. They are also involved in a neutering scheme with a local charity.

The Role :

Day to day duties will include a wide range of Veterinary Nursing tasks including assisting vets in consults & assisting surgeries, nurse consultations, monitoring anaesthetics, inpatient care, administering medications, preparation of of surgical theatre & kennels etc. 

Rota:

This is a full time, permanent position. Their rota is 5 days per week, with start times from 8.00am to 9.30am. 

Their RVNs cover 1 in 4 weekends and approximately 2 nights on call every 4 week (on call covers both Brittas and Cashel branches). They offer generous time off in lieu to ensure a good work life balance.  

Salary:

Salary for this role is up to €31,200 depending on experience. 


Applicant Requirements :

All applicants must be a qualified Veterinary Nurse, registered or eligible to register with the VCI, and eligible to work in Ireland. 

Previous experience would be preferred, but not essential.

The successful candidate should be friendly & courteous, should be willing to work as a team & be able to work of their own initiative in a fast-paced environment.
