We are working with a well-established animal hospital in the beautiful community of Windsor of Nova Scotia that is actively seeking a talented Equine Veterinarian to join their team.

About the Opportunity:

  • You will have the chance to practice your craft with a focus on special interests while building your own clientele. You will be working with a diverse population of horses, including show hunters, jumpers, dressage, western, pleasure, and backyard horses.

  • If you have a special interest in areas such as lameness or surgery, board certification, or alternative practices like chiropractic and acupuncture, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

  • While experience is an asset, this hospital is open to mentoring recent graduates who are enthusiastic about equine veterinary medicine.

The Environment:

  • Facility: The hospital boasts a modern and well-equipped facility that includes stalls, stocks, a spacious treatment area, a surgery suite with a hoist and padded recovery area, a fully stocked pharmacy, and a laboratory with IDEXX blood machines. Additionally, there are two large paddocks with run-in shelters for the comfort and care of the horses.

  • Resources: You will have access to fully equipped practice vehicles fitted with state-of-the-art dental equipment, digital ultrasound and x-ray, a 1m upper airway endoscope, 3m video gastroscope, and various diagnostic tools. For sports medicine enthusiasts, the hospital serves a diverse mix of disciplines and offers services such as prepurchase exams, lameness evaluations, and cutting-edge therapies in Regenerative Medicine.

  • Support Team: You'll be part of a dedicated team that includes experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) who work alongside the DVMs to provide exceptional care. Their skills and commitment to excellence ensure that the hospital's medicine adheres to gold standard practices.
