Here at Lloyd & Cowan we are pleased to be working with a practice who are looking for a dedicated and innovative equine vet to join their welcoming team. Whether you’re seeking full-time or part-time hours, they offer flexible working patterns to suit your lifestyle. Their current out-of-hours rota is 1:8, with a half day off following a weeknight and a Friday off after a weekend on-call.

About them:

Their purpose-built facility includes 7 stables, trot-up areas, a sand school, a treatment room, stocks, a knockdown box, and a theatre. They are equipped with modern tools like portable DR radiography, ultrasound, shockwave therapy, and video endoscopy/gastroscopy.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team of 7 equine vets, 3 equine nursing assistants, and 4 office staff. They value new ideas and regularly host team meetings where you can contribute your thoughts. Their team includes certificate holders and they benefit from regular visits by Dentistry and Orthopaedic Specialists. Engage with the local equine community through their client evenings and team events.

Role:

You’ll experience a varied caseload ranging from family ponies to top-level competition horses. Your duties will include comprehensive physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and developing detailed treatment plans. You'll handle routine procedures such as vaccinations and dental care, manage ambulatory calls, and provide emergency and after-hours care. They also accept orthopaedic, surgical, and medical referrals from local practices. The role can be tailored to match your interests and expertise.

Salary:

Up to £65,000 DOE
