They are a 24/7 hospital growing an ophthalmology service and want a vet who enjoys eye cases and would like ring fenced clinic time plus a dedicated procedure day. With 19 feeder practices and existing referral services, there is strong internal demand and a clear path to build caseload
The opportunity
- Permanent full time Veterinary Surgeon with a focus on ophthalmology
- Mix of consults theatre and inpatient care across a modern hospital team of 70 including 15 vets
- Cross functional support from surgery medicine and dentistry certificate holders
- Structured clinical development with active in house CPD and certificate sponsorship encouraged
Rota and workload
- Four day working week Monday to Friday rotating through consulting surgical and hospital shifts
- One weekend in four no sole charge ten hours Saturday and ten hours Sunday
- Weekend work is mainly ECC with thirty minute sick pet consults and inpatient care
What they are looking for
- A vet confident with first opinion caseload who is keen to lead or develop ophthalmology clinics
- Comfort with routine theatre lists and hospital duties
- Interest in advancing ophthalmology skills. Certificate study is welcomed and supported
Package and support
- Salary dependent on experience
- Annual CPD budget of £1,500 plus certificate sponsorship
- Protected time to run ophthalmology clinics and a weekly procedure day
- Collaborative culture with mentorship available from certificate holders
