The Role:
We have a exiting opportunity arise for a Small Animal Vet to join an experienced Team based in Shropshire area - The role is first opinion small animal vet split between consults and surgery. There is scope for any specialisation.
About the Practice:
They are a hospital status practice with modern facilities in a traditional building in an expanding market town on the picturesque Shropshire/Welsh border with easy links into Birmingham and Manchester. They have a mixed caseload with a significant farm side, but this role is exclusively Small Animal as they see a good proportion of working dogs.
On the companion animal side, they are a first opinion clinic but cover their own out of hours.
The practice has all the toys you might expect of a hospital including Digital Xray and MMP orthopaedic kit. And the nurses are on site 24/7 and do a fantastic job out of hours taking the phones and helping the on-call vets making on call that significant bit easier
About the Team:
The team consists of 12 vets, 9 nurses and 2 VCA. And they have multiple certificate holders in medicine, surgery, ophthalmology with several of the vets currently training.
Support is there for the candidate and try to integrate any of their interests into their work role. Studying for a certificate would be encouraged. They are active in the local area; main events are a stand at our local agricultural show, but we also do lots of events to raise funds for our nominated charity: Mental Health Research UK.
The Hours:
The practice can be flexible to a certain degree and offer either a Locum position or a Permanent Contract - OOH responsibilities are crucial within this role as they take pride in providing this service for their clients. (1 night per week & 1:5 weekend On Call)
