Here’s a genuinely lovely role for a vet who wants to feel part of something. This long-standing clinic in Sutton-in-Ashfield has built a warm, stable team since opening over a decade ago, and they’re now looking to welcome another Veterinary Surgeon into the fold.
Location: The practice sits close to junction 28 of the M1, making life easy for anyone commuting from north Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire.
The Team: It’s a friendly, community-minded team where collaboration is the norm, and vets work closely alongside a highly capable nursing and client care group. The team includes four vets, seven RVNs, a supportive practice manager, and a mix of students who bring great energy into the building.
What stands out here is the genuine mentorship culture. There’s a strong mix of experience in the vet team, and clinicians are encouraged to learn from each other, grow into their interests, and progress at their own pace. The practice is well-equipped, with everything from digital imaging to a high-spec ultrasound with cardiac probe, full lab suite, ECG and tonopen.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with routine surgery and confident when needed for minimal sole charge. Those with advanced qualifications or who are studying towards one will be well supported and recognised with an enhanced salary. The rota sits at 35 hours across the week, with a consistent fixed day off and 1 in 4 Saturdays. No out-of-hours work keeps the work–life balance healthy.
