Veterinary Surgeon – Hertford, Hertfordshire
Salary up to £60,000 DOE | No OOH | Option for full or part time

If you’re a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys variety, autonomy, and being part of a small, close-knit team, this could be the perfect next step.

This modern, well-equipped practice in the heart of Hertford offers an opportunity to make a real impact — where your voice is heard, your ideas matter, and you’ll be supported by an experienced Practice Owner who values high clinical standards and professional development.

About the Practice:
The practice benefits from a loyal and growing client base with an interesting mix of cases. The team is led by an experienced Vet Partner with over 30 years in the profession, including a Master’s in Clinical Oncology and a strong passion for mentoring and developing others.

The small team setup means you’ll enjoy a genuine sense of collaboration and continuity with clients, alongside the flexibility and freedom that come with a more personal working environment. You’ll have the chance to take ownership of your cases and truly see the difference you make.

Why This Role Might Suit You:

  • You prefer a friendly, close-knit team rather than a large corporate setting
  • You value structure, clear SOPs, and a workplace that finishes on time
  • You’d like a steady caseload that lets you build lasting client relationships
  • You want a role that offers balance, security, and support to grow clinically

The Rota:

  • This position offers genuine work-life balance — no out-of-hours or on-call.
  • You’ll work alternate weekends (1:2 Saturdays) with time off in lieu, and both full and part-time options can be considered.

What’s on Offer:

  • Salary up to £60,000 DOE (FTE)
  • Generous CPD allowance, including funding for certificates
  • 5.6 weeks’ holiday, rising to 6.6 weeks after 2 years
  • Paid memberships fee (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
  • Pension scheme
  • Staff Discounts
  • Your Birthday off
  • Encouraged and supported career development
  • And more!

The Location:
Hertford is a beautiful market town that blends countryside charm with excellent access to London. With riverside walks, independent cafés, and a welcoming community feel, it’s a lovely spot for those seeking balance between work and lifestyle.
