Looking for a role with variety, career progression, and the potential to carve out a specialist niche? This Galway-based position offers just that.

You’ll be based mainly at a modern, well-equipped small animal practice, with occasional shifts at two nearby clinics to provide holiday cover. Alongside delivering high-quality general practice care, there’s scope for you to develop a clinical focus in Ophthalmology, Dentistry, Exotics, or Feline Medicine – with full funding for the right candidate to pursue further training or a certificate.

Why this role stands out

  • Salary €50,000–€60,000 DOE
  • Primarily one main site with occasional work in two nearby practices
  • Opportunity to develop into a specialist role with full funding for certificates or further qualifications
  • Diverse caseload and varied clinical environments
  • Enhanced annual leave including your birthday off
  • Generous CPD budget (€1,300 + 5 days) with additional funding for advanced study
  • VCI membership and VDS cover paid
  • Strong focus on wellbeing with EAP, cycle-to-work scheme, company sick pay, and more

The practices
You’ll be part of a busy, progressive veterinary team supported by experienced nurses, modern diagnostics, and a high standard of care. The nearby branches are smaller, community-focused clinics offering a friendly, personal service. Across all sites, you’ll find a collaborative team, excellent facilities, and a caseload that will keep you clinically engaged.

What you’ll need

  • VCI registration (or eligibility)
  • Solid experience in small animal GP work – this role is not suitable for new graduates
  • An interest in developing a niche area of expertise
  • A flexible, team-oriented approach and excellent communication skills
