A well-equipped, purpose-built small animal practice in Rayleigh is looking for an additional vet to join their experienced and friendly team. With a strong focus on clinical support, flexible working, and genuine work-life balance, this is an ideal opportunity for a vet seeking a long-term, supportive environment.
The Role
This is a full-time position with weekends on a 1 in 4 rota, shared evenly across the team. There’s no out-of-hours, on-call, or bank holiday work required. Flexible working options are available, including part-time hours if preferred. Applicants should feel confident in routine medical and surgical cases, including some sole charge.
The Team
You’ll be working alongside a long-standing Clinical Director and two other vets, one of whom holds a certificate in dermatology. The nursing team includes four RVNs, two student nurses, and three VCAs, supported by a dedicated client care team. The culture here is team-focused, encouraging collaboration, development, and shared support.
Clinical Development
This is a great setting for vets who want to push their skills further. Support is available for postgraduate qualifications and certificates, and career progression is encouraged and funded.
The Practice
The clinic is modern, purpose-built, and designed to support high clinical standards. With a loyal and growing client base, the caseload is varied and allows for both routine GP work and more complex cases. The wider group structure also offers opportunities for mentoring and wider professional development.
Location
Rayleigh is a lively market town with excellent transport links. The practice is within walking distance of the high street and train station, with direct trains to London Liverpool Street in around 40 minutes. There’s plenty of parking nearby, access to major bus routes, and close proximity to London airports. You’re also never far from open countryside or the Essex coastline, offering a great balance between city access and nature.
