Emergency & Critical Care RVN – 9-Month Fixed Term – Independent Hospital

We’re working with a respected independent veterinary hospital to find a talented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) rota for a 9-month maternity cover.
If you thrive under pressure, love varied caseloads, and want to work somewhere with real team spirit, this could be your next big move.

Why this role is different

This is no ordinary nursing job. You’ll be part of a hospital team that’s trusted to handle emergencies at all hours. Every shift is different, and every case matters.

The role follows a 6-week rolling rota with one week of nights plus a weekend of night duties per cycle, giving you plenty of compensatory time off to recharge. The rest of the rota is daytime work, so you’ll enjoy the best of both worlds — the buzz of ECC alongside balanced downtime.

What you’ll get

  • Salary: £33,000 – £43,000 DOE

  • Predictable, well-structured rota for a great work-life balance

  • Generous holiday allowance

  • CPD budget and paid development time

  • Pension scheme

  • Employee assistance programme

  • Staff discounts and other perks

Why you’ll love it here

You’ll be working with a supportive, highly skilled team that values collaboration and clinical excellence. The hospital is fully equipped for ECC work, so you’ll have the tools you need to deliver the very best care.
It’s the ideal role for someone who wants the adrenaline and challenge of ECC nursing, but within an environment that still looks after its team.

If you’re an RVN who’s confident in emergencies (or keen to develop in this area), this fixed-term role offers a chance to make a real difference while expanding your skills — and without the uncertainty of locum life.
