7 on / 14 off | Part-Time (18.67 hours avg) | £40,000 DOE | ECC-Focused | No Routine GP Work

We’re working with a leading veterinary hospital near Cambridge that is expanding its out-of-hours team and now looking for a Twilight Vet to bridge the gap between the day and night shifts. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet with a passion for emergency and critical care (ECC) who’s looking to step away from GP work and focus solely on urgent and complex caseloads in a hospital setting.

The Role

  • Part-time: 4pm–Midnight
  • 7 nights on, 14 nights off (average 18.67 hours per week)
  • Permanent contract
  • Focused ECC role with no routine GP caseload
  • Overlap with day and night teams – never sole charge

Why Consider This Role?

  • Hospital-based with Tier 3 accreditation
  • Work alongside multiple ECC certificate holders, including 3 Advanced Practitioners
  • Ideal for vets looking to further their ECC interests in a safe, supportive environment
  • Structured onboarding and clinical mentorship
  • Opportunities to progress, including certificate support
  • Strong work-life balance thanks to the 7-on, 14-off rota
  • Trusted by over 30 local practices to deliver emergency cover

What They’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years’ post-grad experience in small animal practice
  • RCVS-registered vet with a strong interest in ECC
  • Calm, collaborative, and confident handling urgent caseloads
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, well-supported clinical environment

What’s on Offer

  • Salary up to £40,000, depending on experience
  • Funded CPD and support for further certifications
  • RCVS and VDS fees covered
  • And more!
