Lloyd & Cowan Veterinary Recruitment are delighted to be working with a highly regarded independent small animal practice on the Sussex coast, offering a fantastic opportunity for a GP Vet seeking genuine work-life balance and clinical autonomy.
This is a rare chance to join a close-knit, forward-thinking team where you can focus on being a great all-round vet—without the pressures of targets or out-of-hours work. Better still, your lunch breaks are protected, giving you the option to step away and enjoy the nearby coastline.
The Opportunity
This role would suit a vet who enjoys a true general practice caseload, with a mix of consulting and surgery, and values building long-term relationships with clients and their pets. The practice operates a “one pet, one vet” approach, allowing for excellent continuity of care and strong client bonds.
You’ll be working across two well-equipped sites, both designed to support high standards of first-opinion care for small animals and small furries.
The Practice
This is an established, multi award-winning, RCVS-accredited independent practice with a strong reputation for both clinical standards and team wellbeing. The team is experienced and stable, with many long-standing members, creating a supportive and collaborative working environment.
Facilities across the sites include:
- Digital and dental radiography
- Ultrasound
- In-house laboratory (including advanced diagnostic tools)
- Dedicated surgical theatres and prep areas
- Modern, well-designed consulting rooms
The Role
- Full-time or part-time options available
- 1 evening clinic per week (finishing at 6:30pm)
- 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (until 12:30pm)
- No out-of-hours (fully outsourced)
- Overtime is paid if ever required
This is a varied GP role with a balance of consulting, routine and more advanced surgery, and dentistry. Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering high-quality, personalised care are essential.
What’s on Offer
- Salary from £45,000 to £68,000 depending on experience
- 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays
- £2,000 CPD allowance with support for certificates
- Professional fees paid
- Supportive environment with real clinical freedom
- A genuine focus on work-life balance
This opportunity would suit a vet looking to settle into a friendly, independent practice where they can develop their clinical interests while enjoying a relaxed coastal lifestyle.
