We at Lloyd & Cowan a re thrilled to be working with a practice who are seeking a dedicated and proactive Registered Head Veterinary Nurse to lead their team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee nurse consultations, theatre nursing, and inpatient care, while managing a team of veterinary care assistants and a dispensary assistant. With a focus on empowering your colleagues and optimising operational efficiency, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the nursing department.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and mentor veterinary care assistants, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources and adherence to best practices. Oversee rota management, holiday scheduling, and performance appraisals for nursing staff. Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control, in line with regulatory requirements.
Facilitate regular team meetings and training sessions to promote collaboration and professional development.
Manage inventory and stock control processes, liaising with suppliers as necessary to ensure adequate supplies.
Implement and monitor improvements in working practices to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.

This practice operates three premier veterinary practices within the city, delivering exceptional first opinion care to a diverse range of animals including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, and exotic species. Their state-of-the-art facilities are designed to cater to the unique needs of their clients and their beloved pets. They understand the profound bond between humans and animals, and their team is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalised care.
Their diverse team comprises 12 veterinarians, 12 registered nurses (including two student nurses), supported by veterinary care assistants, a pharmacy dispenser, and dedicated administrative personnel.
Salary:
Up to £33,000 DOE, plus up to £2,000 Relocation Allowance
