How does working within a well established, purpose built veterinary hospital in Rotherham that is genuinely known for looking after its nursing team sound?

This opportunity is with a practice where nurses are listened to, supported and encouraged to build long term careers.

They’re now looking to add a Registered Veterinary Nurse to their close knit nursing team. This would suit an RVN who enjoys being part of a team that works well together, supports one another on busy days and takes real pride in delivering high standards of patient care.

The role

  • Full time, permanent position
  • 40 hours per week
  • 1 in 4 weekends
  • Varied, hospital level caseload

The team and working culture
One of the biggest selling points here is the team. There's consistent feedback about how supportive and welcoming the environment is, particularly for new starters. Nurses are encouraged to get involved, share ideas and develop areas of interest, rather than being boxed into one role.

You’ll be working alongside five experienced veterinary surgeons, all of whom are certificate holders or Advanced Veterinary Practitioners. This creates an excellent learning environment and results in a genuinely interesting and high quality caseload for the nursing team.

There is a strong mix of experience across the wider nursing and veterinary teams, with several colleagues currently working towards further qualifications. The culture is collaborative, friendly and professional, with a real focus on learning and progression.

Facilities and clinical exposure
The hospital is modern, purpose built and exceptionally well equipped, offering a level of exposure that many RVNs actively seek. Facilities include
• Multiple consultation rooms
• Several operating theatres
• Dedicated dental suite
• Ultrasound suite
• Advanced imaging including CT
• Separate dog and cat wards
• Well designed prep and recovery areas

This makes it a great environment for RVNs who enjoy variety, advanced nursing and developing their clinical confidence.

Development and benefits
This group invests heavily in its people and offers a strong, well rounded benefits package, including

  • Salary of up to £32,000 DOE
  • CPD allowance with genuine support for development
  • Enhanced maternity pay
  • Income protection
  • Compassionate leave
  • Long service recognition
  • Health and wellbeing support
  • Retail discounts

Location. Why Rotherham
Rotherham offers excellent value for money, strong transport links and a great work life balance. You’re close to Sheffield, Leeds and major road and rail links, while also having the Peak District on your doorstep for walking, outdoor activities and downtime. For nurses considering a move or relocation, it’s an affordable and practical location without sacrificing lifestyle.

If you’re a Registered Veterinary Nurse who values teamwork, development and a supportive hospital environment, this is well worth a conversation.
