Part-Time Night Vet Role – 4 Nights On, 17 Nights Off – Start in the New Year
Night Veterinary Surgeon – South West London - Accommodation available for night blocks
If you’re an ECC-minded vet looking for a role with real variety, strong support and an unbeatable rota, this night position in South West London could be an excellent fit. One of the current night vets is beginning their parenting leave in the new year, so we’re looking to introduce an experienced clinician who can step confidently into nights for a 12-month fixed term.
This is a well-equipped hospital with a balanced mix of first-opinion, emergency and critical care work. Alongside its own caseload, the site also supports surrounding practices, so you can expect interesting medicine and surgery throughout your nights. There’s daytime access to an in-house orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeon, cardiologist and physiotherapist, ensuring any complex cases you admit overnight are smoothly handed over to the specialist team.
You’ll need to be comfortable with sole-charge night shifts, ward management and emergency procedures. You’ll work with an experienced RVN on site throughout the night, supported by an engaged clinical leadership team when needed.
Located in a lovely part of South West London, the hospital is close to excellent transport links. Parking options and nearby accommodation are available if required.
The rota is a real standout: 4 nights on, 17 nights off, averaging around 17 hours per week. Extra shifts can be picked up if you’d like.
What’s on offer:
- Salary reflective of experience (£70,000 to £95,000 FTE based on 40 hours per week) within a competitive night-rate structure
- 4-on / 17-off rota pattern
- 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata)
- Paid 30-minute lunch breaks
- Up to £2,000 CPD budget plus up to 5 days’ paid CPD leave (pro rata)
- Private Medical Healthcare Insurance
- Strong night RVN support and approachable clinical leadership
- Accommodation available for night blocks if needed
If you’d like to explore this opportunity further or discuss whether it aligns with your plans for the new year, I’d be happy to run you through the details. Get in touch by sending your CV via APPLY or email Sophie directly to sophie@lloydandcowan.com.
