Mixed Animal Vet – Kilkenny

A long-established veterinary practice in Kilkenny is seeking an additional vet to join their growing team. The caseload is predominantly farm animal (around 80%), with the remainder in companion animals.

This role would be well suited to a dedicated farm vet or a mixed vet with a strong farm bias. A certificate holder, or someone keen to pursue further qualifications in herd health, would thrive here. The practice places real emphasis on collaboration, regular herd health planning, and team support — with CPD and further development fully encouraged and funded.

What’s on offer:

  • Competitive salary with a 4-day week option
  • Vehicle, phone, and subsistence provided
  • 40 days holiday including public holidays and time in lieu
  • CPD fully supported up to certificate level
  • VCI, VDS & Veterinary Ireland fees paid
  • 1:7 rota for most of the year

What they’re looking for:

  • Minimum 2 years’ farm animal experience
  • VCI registration (or eligibility)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team
  • Motivation and enthusiasm to grow within a supportive environment

The practice has a well-established reputation locally, with opportunities for clinical growth, long-term career prospects, and a vibrant lifestyle on offer in Kilkenny.
