Lead Veterinary Surgeon
Hampshire
Clinical Leadership with a Strong Surgical Caseload

Up to £75,000 DOE | Welcome Bonus up to £10,000 | Relocation Allowance up to £5,000

At Lloyd & Cowan Veterinary Recruitment, we are delighted to be working with a well-established small animal practice in Hampshire seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to step into a lead clinical role.

This is an ideal opportunity for a vet who wants to mentor others, influence clinical standards, and take ownership of complex cases—while remaining firmly hands-on and not moving into a full director-level position.

The Role

You will support and guide the veterinary and nursing team while managing a varied and interesting caseload.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Mentoring and developing vets and nurses to build confidence and capability

  • Leading on complex medical and surgical cases, offering clinical guidance and second opinions

  • Driving high standards through clinical governance, audits, and evidence-based protocols

  • Ensuring compliance with Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons standards

  • Working alongside management to shape service development and continuous improvement

  • Fostering a positive, collaborative culture focused on learning and progression

About You

  • MRCVS-qualified with strong experience in small animal (or mixed) practice

  • A confident clinician with solid surgical and diagnostic ability

  • Enjoys mentoring and supporting colleagues

  • Organised, approachable, and committed to excellent patient and client care

What’s on Offer

  • Salary up to £75,000 depending on experience

  • Welcome bonus up to £10,000

  • Relocation allowance up to £5,000

  • Two-bedroom accommodation available in Grayshott from summer 2026

  • A genuine opportunity to influence clinical direction while maintaining a strong clinical focus

This role would suit an experienced vet looking to take the next step into leadership within a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
