Lead Veterinary Surgeon – Tamworth
Up to £80,000 DOE + £5,000 Relocation Allowance + Partnership Potential

Are you an experienced vet looking for real autonomy, strong clinical support, and the opportunity to shape the future of a well-established practice? If so, this Lead Vet role could be the perfect next step.

We’re working with a thriving, family-run small animal practice in the Tamworth area, looking to welcome a confident and capable Lead Veterinary Surgeon. Whether your strength lies in surgery, medicine, or mentorship, you’ll have the space to play to your strengths and help take the practice to the next level — all while supported by a fantastic team of owners, managers, and experienced colleagues.

What’s on offer:

  • Salary up to £80,000 DOE

  • £5,000 welcome bonus (for direct applicants)

  • No OOH, no Sundays – just a 4-day week and 1 in 3 Saturdays

  • Investment in your interests – whether clinical certificates or leadership training

  • Supportive and settled team – some staff have been here over 20 years

  • Newly refurbished practice with a friendly, family feel

  • Opportunity for future partnership for the right person

The Role:
This position is ideal for an experienced vet looking to step into (or continue in) a leadership role without being bogged down in practice management. You’ll work closely with the Practice Owners and Practice Manager, leading the clinical team day to day, mentoring junior vets, and having your voice heard when it comes to the future of the practice.

Any particular clinical interests are welcomed and supported – there’s plenty of scope for someone with a surgical bias, or someone keen to develop a niche.

Why consider this role? It’s rare to find a role that balances autonomy, leadership, and work-life balance so well. You’ll be joining a genuinely supportive and experienced team, in a modern, well-equipped environment, with long-term opportunities including partnership for the right fit.
