Hospital Manager – Veterinary Hospital
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

A modern, independently owned veterinary hospital in Toronto is seeking an experienced Hospital Manager to lead operations, support team development, and ensure the smooth delivery of exceptional patient and client care.

This is a key leadership role within a rapidly growing hospital that prioritises compassionate, patient-first veterinary medicine and a supportive workplace culture.

The Role

As Hospital Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the hospital while working closely with the clinical leadership team to maintain a high-performing and positive working environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing daily hospital operations to ensure efficient patient flow and a seamless client experience

  • Leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team across clinical and client-facing roles

  • Managing HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and staff development

  • Driving a culture of mentorship, accountability, and continuous improvement

  • Managing financial processes including budgeting, payroll oversight, and operational expense management

  • Monitoring operational and financial metrics and implementing improvements where needed

  • Ensuring compliance with workplace safety, employment standards, and veterinary industry regulations

  • Maintaining a visible leadership presence within the hospital to support staff and ensure operational priorities are delivered

About the Practice

The hospital is a new, independently owned veterinary facility designed around patient wellbeing and accessible care. The team operates in a purpose-built environment with modern diagnostic equipment and a collaborative clinical culture focused on delivering personalised care.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of management experience (veterinary experience beneficial but not essential)

  • Experience managing large or multidisciplinary teams in service, healthcare, or similar environments

  • Strong organisational and leadership skills in fast-paced operational settings

  • HR experience including staff scheduling, coaching, and performance management

  • Financial awareness including budgeting and operational expense management

  • A calm, structured leader who can improve systems, workflows, and team communication

  • A proactive mindset with the ability to support growth while maintaining high standards of care
