The Role

Here at Lloyd & Cowan we are working with a practice that are seeking a Head Veterinary Nurse to join their 24-Hour Hospital. 

The practice is a busy hospital, led by their Branch Partner and Lead Vet. They are a six-vet clinic plus dedicated night team who manage all out of hour care for the regions 15 surrounding branches.

The practice is equipped with digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, gastroscope, bronchoscope, laparoscopy, orthopaedic equipment, ultrasound as their machinery plus a wide array of more emergency equipment. With CT suite due to be built in the near future!

Full time salary package to include: 

  • - Starting salary £32,500 per annum 

  • - £750 CPD allowance with 2-days CPD leave and in-house CPD available

  • - Hours: 40 per week with 1:6 weekends 

  • - RCVS and VDS fees paid

Key Accountabilities:

In this role you will assist with financial and operational performance of your practice as well as the overall team performance and engagement.

You'll take pride in the delivery of exceptional clinical quality and care, encouraging a progressive clinical culture. 

You'll work closely with the Lead Vet as well as their wider teams to ensure the general smooth running of your practice, from Practice Standards to Health & Safety, and ensure things such as debt is managed and controlled and any complaints are dealt with appropriately. 

As a Head Nurse and Clinical Coach, you will develop and support your direct reports, holding one to ones and providing regular feedback on their performance, as well as taking action to create a positive environment that results in stable retention for your branch.

Beckenham has lots of character and charm, it was recently voted one of the best commuter towns with fast direct access into London for all the capital has to offer!

There is a lively High Street with restaurants and shops as well as Beckenham Place Park right on their doorstep.  

The practice is situated in a quiet, leafy residential area with excellent train and tram links including Thameslink, Southeastern and Southern Train Lines. They also have staff parking available.
