We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established, community-led veterinary practice located in Cheshire. This clinic has recently undergone a full refurbishment, creating a bright, clean, and welcoming environment that stands out for its natural light and modern design—a refreshing change in the veterinary world and well worth a visit.
The practice is known for its strong team ethos and commitment to delivering high standards of care. They are now seeking an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse to take a leading role in the day-to-day clinical and operational activities, supporting the veterinary team and ensuring the smooth and effective running of the practice.
The Role

Position: Head Veterinary Nurse

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Weekends: 1 in 6 weekends at a nearby branch
This is a hands-on leadership role involving clinical duties, team coordination, and client interaction. You'll be instrumental in maintaining high standards of care and ensuring an efficient, supportive practice environment.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver excellent patient care and support across routine and complex cases

Assist with surgical procedures and inpatient care

Lead nurse consults and schedule 3 activities

Dispense and check medications in line with protocols

Support practice operations, admissions, discharges, and clinical standards

Foster strong communication between team members and clients

Play an active role in mentoring and developing nursing team members
About You

RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse

Proven experience in delivering clinical excellence

Strong leadership and communication skills
-
Confident in nurse consults and working in a busy, team-oriented environment

Passionate about continuous development and patient-centred care
