Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Graduate Opportunity

We’re working with a long-established, independent mixed practice in Co. Kerry, looking to welcome a new or recently graduated Large Animal Vet to their friendly team. This position has opened up as one of the team prepares to head to New Zealand this summer — creating a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to begin their career with strong support and a steady caseload.

About the Practice:

  • Independently run, family-style environment

  • Senior vet now focused on admin & support

  • Small animal work managed by 2 experienced vets

  • Purpose-built clinic, covering a loyal farm client base

The Role:

  • 95% dairy work with minimal suckler

  • Routine farm visits, fertility work, herd health and emergency calls

  • 1 in 4 weekends and 1 in 4 on-call rota

What’s on Offer:

  • Full-time, permanent position starting June/July 2025

  • Competitive salary: €40+ for new grads

  • Mileage paid and/or vehicle may be provided

  • Supportive, practical mentoring to help you transition into farm practice

  • Structured rota and realistic workload

Ideal for someone who:

  • Is graduating this year or recently qualified

  • Wants to work in a close-knit team with real autonomy

  • Is confident, or ready to grow confident, in farm-based veterinary work

  • Is eligible to register with the VCI

If you're a recent or soon-to-be graduate large animal vet ready to start this summer and want to learn more, get in touch with Sophie for the details!
