Are you a farm vet who enjoys proper herd work, being part of a team that actually talks to each other, and clients who genuinely value your input?
We’re working with a long-standing independent-feel practice with a strong reputation across Staffordshire and beyond. They’re now looking to add another Farm Vet to the team—someone who enjoys routine herd visits, troubleshooting on-farm, and building relationships with clients over time.
Why this role might suit you:
-
Structured but flexible working week with a fair OOH rota (1 in 5)
-
Dedicated farm team including ATTs, lay support, and a strong vet-to-farmer connection
-
Vehicle provided and time off in lieu for nights/weekends
-
The chance to get involved with beef, sheep, camelids and more if it suits your interest
-
Use of up-to-date tech including Interherd Plus, TB Master, auto egg counters, and in-house lab
You’d be working in a genuinely mixed area—plenty of dairy, with a good mix of progressive and traditional clients, spread across Staffordshire, Cheshire, and Shropshire. The practice invests in relationships as much as in kit, with community ties that include sponsorships, quiz nights, tractor runs, and regular farmer discussion groups.
The day-to-day might include:
-
Routine fertility visits (with lay support for data capture)
-
Bull fertility testing and herd health planning
-
Emergency care on a shared rota
-
Disease investigations and herd performance reviews
-
Occasional work with sheep, goats, pigs, or camelids depending on your background
Package highlights:
- Salary up to £65,000 depending on experience
- 5 weeks’ holiday + bank hols
- Funded CPD plus access to extensive in-house CPD
- Private medical insurance and enhanced sick/family leave
- RCVS and VDS paid
- Staff discount scheme
- Workplace pension with employer contributions
This would suit a confident dairy vet who wants to work somewhere they’ll be heard, where the team backs each other, and where there’s genuine variety in both clients and cases.
