We have 3 exciting opportunities for recent or soon to be graduate Veterinary Surgeon interested in completing a 12 month Equine Internship in amazing locations within Australia!

About the Practices:

The practices are well-established and a progressive referral and first opinion practice which offers a variety of diagnostic services including digital radiology and ultrasound, nuclear scintigraphy, video and exercising endoscopy, in-house laboratory facilities and operates as a full surgical facility. They are a diverse, busy equine practices servicing a large clientele of racing, sport horse, pleasure and breeding clients.

There are opportunities based on the western fringe of Sydney & Bendigo, Central Victoria!

The Role:

  • There are three veterinary internship positions of 12 months for a new or recent graduate wishing to gain experience in referral and first opinion equine veterinary practice. The internship is a well-respected training program (1 in 3 on-call schedule plus one rostered day off per week).

  • Interns will rotate through hospital inpatients, anaesthesia and outpatient assessments, reproduction and ambulatory.

  • The position involves assisting with in-patient care, anaesthesia, assistance with medical and surgical case investigations, ambulatory practice and after hours calls, as well as exposure to routine and advanced artificial breeding procedures.

Benefits:

  • Remuneration includes an annual salary as per the ACVS Modern Award 2010 plus superannuation ($60-$90K AUSD)

  • An exceptional grounding within referral & 1st opinion work, working with an experienced team

  • 1 week of paid study leave (includes course fees for approved course) and

  • 4 weeks annual leave per annum.

  • NSW State registration and AVA Professional Association fees are also paid
