Due to relocation, they are looking for a confident vet to join their leadership team to run the small animal sector of this large mixed business.

This practice has been providing veterinary care to pets and farm animals in the local area since the 1970s and have an excellent reputation for their friendly and reliable service. The group has recently expanded so that the farm animal provision is now based at Welford, and has recently expanded its SA provision taking ownership of a branch in Leicester.

The Role

As clinical director, you will have overarching responsibility for the small animal business; you will work alongside the two farm clinical directors to lead the whole group, and be fundamental in setting strategy and maintaining excellent clinical standards across the sites.

Day-to-day responsibilities include line managing a team of vets across three sites; ensuring the financial viability of the business through managing services, purchasing, and creating new business opportunities.

This role will allow the successful candidate to work autonomously to ensure the continued success of this wonderful practice whilst offering support, mentorship, and training to develop clinical and leadership skills.

You will be supported by the large animal clinical directors, the Practice Manager, your Business Development Director, and a support office team who are experts within their fields.

The candidate they ae looking for:

Whilst some leadership experience would be beneficial, it is not essential as they are keen to find the right person for the role and full training and support will be given.

The successful candidate must be a confident vet who can make clinical decisions, support junior members of the team, and appraise clinical provision.

They are looking for a compassionate leader who sees their success as that of their team; the ability to communicate well with people and clients is essential, as is the ability to prioritise and delegate where required.

Working Pattern/hours:

They understand that life does not always fit into Monday-Friday, therefore they are happy to consider any working pattern or hours. We will also consider a job-share, if it’s appropriate.

You will be expected to participate in a Saturday rota but there are no OOH.
