​The Role:

Our client in Weymouth are looking for a full time experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their busy and friendly team, who is comfortable with first opinion practice including both routine consultations and surgeries. The role would be primarily based in their surgery in Weymouth, but may also extend to their practice in Dorchester. The rota will include sole-charge OOH and weekend work, providing service to both their Weymouth and Dorchester clients. Part time applications will be considered. They are also welcoming applications from new graduates. 

About them:

They are very lucky to have a purpose-built premises with modern and wide-ranging equipment. They have a well-equipped internal laboratory, two digital x-ray machines, 2 dental suites with x-ray facilities, endoscopy, laparoscopic surgical equipment, 2 ultrasound machines and 5 operating theatres. Their team is friendly and inclusive and has many individuals who have worked with the practice for 10 or more years. They actively encourage development within the team, and are keen to promote excellent service to their clients within first opinion practice. Finally, they are so very lucky to be located on the Dorset coast with all the beauty and outdoor opportunity that the area provides.
They currently have a large cohort of nurses, as well as ten vets, including two certificate holders, one AVP in feline medicine, and two more studying for certificates. They also operate a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere with ample opportunity to discuss are reflect on cases with colleagues, and encourage progressive ideas to better their patient and client service.

Applicant Requirements

No skill bias is required, but due the nature of their facilities and their team the ideal candidate should have a passion to provide a high level of care. Any applicant would be supported by the team to ensure they were comfortable and confident as they developed into the role.
